COURAGE LIKE MAGGIE

There is that old saying…

​

You lay down with dogs you wake up with fleas.

​

This is a famous saying meaning that if you associate with bad people, they will negatively impact you.

​

The opposite of this is also very true.

​

You hang out with awesome people and they cannot help but rub off on you in positive ways.

​

I am very fortunate in life to have many friends from all walks of life, race, creed, age group, sexual and gender orientation, etc.  I am very grateful for my diverse groups of friends.

​

I think our friends reflect our internal values.  Your vibe attracts your tribe so to speak and it strengthens those qualities in you and helps you achieve being greater than you would be alone.

​

My friends, and I am always ready to meet new friends like you, dear reader:), have a variety of great qualities.  Those qualities have taken purchase in me.  I am grateful for that.

​

The Story of COURAGE LIKE MAGGIE…

​

One day I had this pretty melody and chorus running through my head.  When it was coming to me, I was thinking about my friends.  How they are all different and have different qualities.  And about how those qualities, strength, joy, courage, spirit, etc. are strengthened in me just by being friends.   Just by being around them.  To be honest, I am not sure if I would have had the courage to pursue music if it were not for them.

I am grateful.

​

So I had this pretty melody running around in my mind when I was thinking of them.  It was just natural to write this song about them.  About all of us.

​

But greater than that, I wanted the song to feel authentic to all humans.  For them to see their friends in it.  For when you hear the song, your mind drifts into thinking about your friends who have courage, joy, purpose, spirit, giant hearts, etc.

​

I also wanted to say that all of are human.  So called differences do not matter.

​

All are human.  That is what matters.

​

That is all that matters.:)
